Completion of the required 12 hours of course work earns you a "Certificate of Achievement" recognized by the Agency on Health Care Administration (AHCA) as satisfying these standards (58A-14.008 FAC).

The AFCH certification requires the provider/caregiver live *with* the residents in the primary residence of the provider. License capacity of the home is a maximum of 5 residents.

A person who intend to offer room, board and personal care services in their own homes for up to five (5) adults must obtain an Adult Family Care Home (AFCH) license. Persons who intend to provide care for more than five (5) disabled adults or frail elders are required to obtain an assisted living facility license.
