Assisted Living Core Training Program

Our ALF Core Training programs meet the mandatory training required for all ALF Administrators and managers* and Extended Congregate Care Supervisors as required in Florida Statute 429.52 and Florida Administrative Code 59A-36.011. *Refer to Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 59A-36, for information regarding “managers” who are required to complete the ALF Core training.

Our ALF Core Training courses are designed to prepare assisted living administrators and individuals interested in learning more about the daily operations of a community to meet resident care standards, facility standards and achieve licensure requirements.

Pursuant to State of Florida regulations, Assisted Living Facility Administrators and Managers must complete the Assisted Living Facility Core Training Program (minimum 26 hours) and are required to be certified. Certification includes

completing a minimum of 26-hours of core training provided by an approved ALF Core training provider and

successfully passing the state Assisted Living Facility Core Competency exam.

PER CHAPTER 429.52 FS AND CHAPTER 59A-36 FAC.

Assisted Living Facilities Administrators and Managers are required to participate in a minimum of 12 contact hours (Continuing Education) every 2 years.

Administrators and Managers who have successfully completed the core training but has not maintained the continuing education requirements will be considered new administrators and managers for the purposes of the core training requirements and must:

1. Retake the assisted living facility core training; and,

2. Retake and pass the competency test.

 ALF Core Competency Exam

The competency exam is administered separately by the MacDonald Research Institute. Please visit: https://alfmacdonald-research.com/default.aspx for the ALF Administrator competency exam schedule, testing policies and details on how to register and pay for the exam. The exam fee is $200.

• Effective Risk Management -3 HOURS
